God’s Unconditional Love



For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16


Our love is always conditional and mercurial. We love people only when we see an attraction and affection for one another. God’s love is unconditional and immeasurable. Our love is always on-demand basis which is we love people only intending to get their love. We love people to get their attention, time, wealth, enjoyment etc. But God’s love is not based on demand. He loves us even though He didn’t get the same from us. Our love changes according to the time and person. God’s love never changes. His love is the same yesterday today and tomorrow. He loves us right from the womb till the graveyard His love didn’t stop right there He loves us and wants us to be with Him to have the eternal life.


Jesus could not think of eternity without us, so the Father sends His only Son for our sins. However, what God gave (or should we say, “who” God gave) was not a mere gift-wrapped present; God sacrificed His only Son so that we, put our faith in His Son, will not spend eternity separated from Him. We were not worthy to receive his love even though He loved us unconditionally. Ephesians 3:16-17 says “to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” No matter how sinful we might be He could restore us back to Him. His love doesn’t have any width, height and depth for us.


All He expects in us is to submit ourselves to the Lord and to His mighty will. When we submit ourselves in God’s presence, He directs us correctly in the track which He wants’ us to walk. The prodigal son left the father love and involved in every rubbish habits. Once everything was lost he thought of the love of the Father which he had before. He made up the mind to get back to the Father’s love. The scripture says” Father ran to the son”. God always takes initiation to reach us when we return from our sin and to get back to the Father. God wants our relationship with Him. Many times we too did the same as of the prodigal son. We receive the blessings and move out of the relationship of the God many times. Still He is faithful to us and loves us and want to restore us. Do you want to restore your sinful life to God? He is ready to love you unconditionally. Amen.
